[Asterisk-biz] Building a business using IAX?

I see a lot of posts on this list asking for termination in other countries.
What is the business model that this works under?
 
Do people here in the U.S. setup Asterisk PBX'es and then sell long-distance
calling to country XYZ?  I'm very interested to know how this business model
works and how you make money at doing it.  Thank you all in advance.
