Basically the idea is to make it look like a standard pabx and 
function in a rack with no monitor etc.  You could then theoretically 
have say 20 in a rack and be able to check them at a glance.  While 
you could write an interface for multiple boxes, an LCD is somehow 
more solid feeling.  The other thing is that you can obviously still 
use the lcd if the network goes down (it will even let you restart 
the box if it stops responding etc).
