Have a read of http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+hardware+recommendations
and the pages linked from it.

But there are two point I and no doubt many other would like to make:

1. Please don't post in HTML. Set your mail program to Plain Text mode for
   posting to mailing lists.

2. Please spend at least several days reading and studying everything you
   can find at http://www.voip-info.org/ - this is the "Wiki" and has the
   answer to many, many questions.
